REACH, USP, Food Grade and Export Document Notes

This page helps importers and industrial buyers ask the right compliance questions before purchasing calcium chloride and other inorganic salt chemicals.

Important distinction

Different Markets Require Different Documents

Industrial gradeUsed for deicing, desiccant, dust control, drilling, water treatment and general industrial processing. COA and SDS are usually the first documents to review.
Food gradeRequires food-related specifications and buyer-side confirmation of allowed use, labeling, additives and destination-market import rules.
USP / pharmaceutical-related gradeNot the same as food grade. USP or pharma-related use requires a stricter standard review, batch document review and clear end-use confirmation.
REACH / EU-related reviewREACH applicability depends on importer role, annual volume, exact substance identity, use and EU compliance responsibilities.
Plain-language disclaimer: this page is a buyer support guide, not legal advice. Final import, application and regulatory compliance must be confirmed by the importer, end user, local agent or qualified compliance consultant.
