Product identity and supply scope
Anhydrous sodium sulfate is the water-free form of disodium sulfate, chemical formula Na2SO4 and CAS 7757-82-6. “Sodium sulfate” is the American spelling; “sodium sulphate” is the British spelling. Natrium sulphate and sulphate of soda can appear in international enquiries, but the contract should use an unambiguous chemical name, formula and grade.
The anhydrous product is not the same supply form as sodium sulfate decahydrate, Na2SO4·10H2O, commonly called Glauber’s salt. They contain different amounts of water and are not compared on gross mass alone. State the required hydrate, assay basis and intended process before requesting a quotation.

A label such as “industrial grade,” “detergent grade” or “glass grade” is not a complete specification. Hailei should be evaluated against the customer’s guaranteed limits and methods. If a buyer requests 99% minimum Na2SO4, that figure must appear in the current quotation and purchase specification and then be verified by the relevant lot COA; it should not be inferred from this page.
Specification fields to include in an RFQ
- Na2SO4 assay and whether the result is reported as received or on a dry basis.
- Moisture or loss-on-drying limit and agreed analytical method.
- Water-insoluble matter and application-relevant ionic impurities.
- Chloride, calcium, magnesium, iron, free acid or free alkali where the process requires control.
- Whiteness, color, pH, particle-size distribution and bulk density when relevant.
- Intentional additives, production route or source restrictions.
- Sampling plan, retained samples, dispute method and off-specification action.
Typical values on a technical data sheet describe expected production and are not automatically contractual guarantees. The signed specification or purchase order should identify the limits that control acceptance.
Samples, lot documents and change control
Before bulk approval, request a representative production sample linked to a recent COA. Test the chemical parameters and run a handling or process trial under recorded conditions. The commercial shipment should carry its own lot identification and COA. For sensitive applications, agree on retained samples and independent dispute testing.
Request notification before a material change to raw-material source, manufacturing site, process, analytical method, additives, particle form or packing. A new source that meets the same headline assay can still behave differently in color, dissolution, caking or formulation.
Export packing and quotation basis
Packing options must be confirmed for the selected grade and destination. The comparison should state net bag mass, liner and moisture barrier, pallet status, labels, container loading plan and protection from rain or condensation. Keep bags sealed, dry and raised from wet floors; follow the current SDS and site handling procedures.
For a comparable quotation, send the specification, trial and annual quantities, packing, destination port, Incoterm, required delivery window and document list. Price, MOQ, loading quantity and lead time are dated commercial facts and should be confirmed in writing for each enquiry.

Do sodium sulfate and sodium sulphate mean the same product?
Yes. They are American and British spellings of the same chemical name. The formula, hydrate and specification still need to be stated.
